The following links explain the policies and actions of the Government of Japan to resolve the issue of abductions of Japanese citizens by North Korea.
The new Headquarters for the Abduction Issue was established in October 2009. The Headquarters is chaired by the Prime Minister of Japan.
Towards the Japanese abductees in North Korea, this program broadcasts information on concrete measures of the government to resolve the abduction issue, movements inside and outside Japan, and messages from families of the abductees.
The Government of Japan is calling on people worldwide to recognize the seriousness of the abduction issue.
The Japanese Government and local governments in Japan organize various events during the North Korean Human Rights Abuses Awareness Week held every year from December 10th to 16th.
