Headquarters for the Abduction Issue

The Government of Japan established Headquarters for the Abduction Issue, which consists of all of the Ministers of State, with the Prime Minister serving as chief and the Minister in Charge of the Abduction Issue, the Chief Cabinet Secretary, and the Minister of Foreign Affairs serving as assistant chiefs.

Shortwave radio broadcast to the Japanese abductees in North Korea

Towards the Japanese abductees in North Korea, this program broadcasts information on concrete measures of the government to resolve the abduction issue, movements inside and outside Japan, and messages from families of the abductees.

Abduction Issue PR Campaigns

The Government of Japan is calling on people worldwide to recognize the seriousness of the abduction issue.

North Korean Human Rights Abuses Awareness Week

The Japanese Government and local governments in Japan organize various events during the North Korean Human Rights Abuses Awareness Week held every year from December 10th to 16th.
